Botswana: The Tonota District Child Protection Committee (DCPC) has organizaed a vital three day training session for their members. The training was facilitated by the Department of Social & Community Development (S&CD).
The Marang Child Care Network Trust also supported the initiative of the child safety workshop and . The training was aimed at enhancing the committee’s understanding and capabilities in Child protection.
The district has been working closely with the child protective services to train the various members of the administration in working under the mandates of child safety. The officials have shared that the the welfare of the children is a major mandate for the people.
The children, who have been living in unsafe environments and with incompetent families, need to be taken out of the situation. The district has, in the past organized various initiatives with the aim of furthering this mandate, targeting both the leadership of Tonota and the parents.
The District council also shared some images from the three day workshop on their social media. The images featured all the members of the district administration who attended the workshop.
