Zimbabwe’s first commercial radio station welcomed Dellish Makatendeka Masango on Star FM’s much-loved show ‘The Breakfast Club’. The show is more alike live chat show where the host Nikki chat with the guests.
The popular radio show is hosted by the media professional and the presenter ‘Nikki’ and this time the talented 5-year-old model who was crowned as Toto Miss Africa Zimbabwe 2023 and the second runner-up at the recent Toto Miss Africa competition in Nigeria – Dellish Makatendeka Masango was invited.
Nikki who is popularly known as ‘Nikki In The Stars’ is a journalist, radio presenter and professional MC. Her real name is Nicola Dora and she is currently employed by the Star FM where she hosts The Breakfast Club show which she co-hosts with Emphraim Tagu.
At the Toto Miss Africa competition, the contestants delve deeper into the world of pageantry where the young models encounter various challenges.
The contestants face all the moments of doubts and uncertainty while going through all the rounds and levels. Considering, from how to walk down the ramp with poise to master in doing different poses for photoshoots, the participants learn everything and receives its deepest knowledge.
Reportedly, the Little Mister and Miss Africa Continental finals was conducted in Lagos, Nigeria which proved that the country holds enough talent when it comes to modelling and showcasing the brilliant skills.
The contestants, through their hard work and dedication, honed their skills and raised Zimbabwe’s flag high by winning medals in various categories.
Notably, the competition attracted ten countries from the continent who saw Tamar Kunashe Muchineuta, Aiden Murambidzi and six-year-old Dellish Masango who proved to be beyond the doubt that the country has great potential.
At the contest Aiden was crowned as the Little Mister Africa after outwitting nine other contestants while Tamar was crowned as the Innovate Queen and Dellish was crowned as Toto Miss African second runner up.
Eulogising the participants and the winners, Zimbabwe’s pageant director Shalom Museba said that the future of the country is bright for the young models and there is a need to support them.
She added that, “We had three participants from and some didn’t make it due to financial challenges. If we had the sponsors, more talent could have come to the contest.”
“The competition was tough as ten countries participated. The pageant aims at celebrating the cultural diversity through pageantry,” said Shalom Museba.
