Zambia: The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has urged the old and up-coming musicians to register with the Association. The call was made to music stakeholders in the country from all over the country.
The officials have shared that the members of the music fraternity will be able to work as a part of the organization. The officials have shared that the members of the music community will be better protected.
The officials have shared that it is important for the people of the creative fraternity to unite. This will help them get access to better deals as the union and associations can advocate for the members.
The ZAM President, Brian Bwembya has announced that the members of the the Association’s mandate requires that only registered and paid-up members can be hired for shows in Zambia.
Byembya, commonly known as ‘B-Flow’ advised musicians to register so that they do not miss out on opportunities.
According to Byemba, Zambia Association of Musicians also looks at aspects of annual membership fee, eligibility, professionalism, commitment of quality music, resource management and transparency among artists. This helps the artists remain committed to constantly improving their craft and gone their skills for their audience.
The quality of the music that comes out of Zambia is crucial to be maintained. It is important for the leaders of Zambia to make sure that the creative sector can be given all the support they deserve.
“Musicians are required to register with the Association. There are good benefits for the musicians and artists who registers with the organization. The musicians and artists will one day, need a voice from the Association for support.
These remarks were made by Brian Bwembya when he was sensitizing the musicians about the importance of registration and formalization. As a unified organization, the Zambia Association of Musicians will be able to band together to campaign for the needs of its members.
