Zambia: Novic Siame, facing burglary and theft charges, made a scene at the court entrance as he stunned everyone when he refused to enter the courtroom and instead began undressing.
Siame left everyone shocked after refusing to enter the court premises, and in a bizarre turn of events, onlookers and staff at the Magistrate Court in Nakonde were left in shock when they watched an accused person undress and defecate in his hands.
One of the eyewitnesses, Mercy Nachula, narrated the unusual and disturbing scene to the media.
She said after removing all his clothes, leaving him completely naked, to the horror of those present, Siame defecated in his hands and started smearing the faecal matter on his head.
Mercy Nachula added that some of the excrement also ended up splashing onto the wall and floor, creating a disturbing and unsanitary spectacle.
“We were seated outside with my friends, waiting for the court session to begin, when the police van carrying the accused people arrived. One of the accused started hesitating to enter the court, and it was then that he started undressing”, she said.
She recounted that police officers attempted to intervene and restrain Siame, but the situation had already spiralled into a strange display of behaviour.
The reasons behind Siame’s actions remain unclear, raising serious questions about his mental state and well-being, while other eyewitnesses concluded that he was trying to avoid the court session.
Despite the shocking nature of the incident, court proceedings eventually resumed while Siame was taken back to the police cells.
However, this is not the first time Siame has done this. This is the second attempt he has made in two years.
He then began throwing faeces everywhere, creating a foul smell and a health hazard.
It took police tear gas to bring him to order. He has been taken back to the cells, where he will await further action. The motive behind his bizarre behaviour is not clear.
Some speculate that he is mentally unstable, while others suggest that he is trying to avoid trial or get sympathy from the court.
