Zimbabwe: Three men were assaulted and killed by a man over a past romantic relationship with the same girl that one of the killers had earlier courted. The anger ended badly in Glen View on Monday, March 04, 2024.
Reportedly, the man was identified as Geodricks Mushonga and was stabbed multiple times. He was also stabbed in his head, neck and back, which caused his immediate death.
As per the sources, the illegal gold panner Last Takundwa appeared in court yesterday and faced murder charges before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi. The culprit was remanded and has been given another date for the case. The next hearing will be conducted on March 27, 2024.
State prosecutor Nigel Chanakira allegedly stated that on March 04, 2024, around 2:00 a.m., his accomplices Robson Takundwa and Justin Magedhi were drinking beer inside Big Dhara Nite Club at Glen View 4 Shopping Centre in Harare.
According to the reports, the three had a misunderstanding with Mushonga about a girlfriend whom Last had earlier courted.
Last Takundwa and his accomplices blocked the entrance and dragged Mushonga out of the bus terminus in front of the club and slapped and kicked him.
One of the three pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim three times in the head, neck and back, resulting in his death.
The Harare court heard that after committing the offence, the three then fled from the scene and went into hiding himself.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Last Takundwa is a neighbor to the late Mushonga parents.
Following this, public members allegedly stormed Last Takundwa’s house chanting and demanding to see him. They banged the doors and smashed windows after he had committed the crime.
The case is still under investigation. The Harare Magistrate has given the date for the next hearing and is willing to solve it as soon as possible.
Such cases in Harare are increasing day by day and need to be resolved completely.
