South Africa, Mpumalanga: As the country and are citizens are celebrating Human Rights Week, 830 learners from Msogwaba village are currently enjoying learning in a State of Art School which will be officially handed over by the MEC for Education, Bonakele Majuba, in partnership with the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Mandla Ndlovu, on Thursday, 23 March 2023, from 09H00.
Prince HR Nkosi Primary School consists of 24 classrooms, an administration bloc, a grade R centre, a computer centre, a library, a kitchen, a multi-purpose combo court, a guard house and 32 toilets.
It is a well established fact that school infrastructure improvement plays a significant role in creating a favourable environment for teaching and learning to thrive. Hence, the Department is forging ahead with school infrastructure delivery.
Indeed, the teaching and learning experience can only be efficiently delivered in a secure and conducive space that guarantees the safety of every teacher, learner, and support staff.
Bricks and mortar school structures and other infrastructural facilities such as ablution, libraries, and laboratories are indispensable in the quest for education delivery.
In pursuit of the mandate to provide safe access to education and to improve scholastic outcomes, the Department has developed an accelerated infrastructural development programme.
This is also in keeping with the desire to alleviate the school infrastructure backlog and address the admission challenges and overcrowding of classrooms within the province. Truly, the demand for school infrastructure is huge and proving to be a moving target. The developed acceleration plan will, this time around, be implemented using multiple implementation agencies.
This is intended to fast-track the implementation and to ensure that the allocation for infrastructure is used as intended and in line with the prescripts that govern such an endeavour. No one will be left behind. We are in this together; slowly but surely, the Department is making important strides in delivering on school infrastructure.
