South Africa: The Mpumalanga Department of Education is grateful to the Motsepe Foundation for donating R320 000 to each of nine schools in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality this morning.
The donations come at an opportune time to assist in alleviating much needed infrastructure and water supplies in schools.
According to the Mpumalanga Department of Education, Dr. Patrice Motsepe was impressed during the handover ceremony at the Alliance Church in Kanyamazane that Education is the greatest pillar of societal and community development.
According to the official reports of the Department, Motsepe Foundation has donated developmental funding to a total of 523 beneficiaries comprising 172 secondary schools, 111 primary schools and 240 churches nationally.
This great deed of benevolence is a legacy project that seeks to leverage learning opportunities for all our children despite their geographical location, socio-economic background or places of residence.

The Department is grateful to Dr Patrice and Dr Precious Motsepe, and the Motsepe Foundation for this generous deed of nation-building.
The nine schools that benefited from this donation are Guduza, Thembeka, Stintile, Sdungeni, Masitakhe, Sibusisiwe and Tikhontele Secondary Schools, Masitakhe as well as Vulamasango and Sboshwa Primary Schools.
