Dominica: The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) announced the appointment of Nathalie Walsh as their new Festivals and Events Manager on March 13, 2023. Walsh is an experienced marketing professional with expertise in event planning and management, as well as a marketing strategy.
As per the Discover Dominica Authority, Walsh will be managing all entertainment events in Dominica, like: Mas Domnik-The Real Mas, Jazz n’ Creole, World Creole Music Festival, and many other events.
DDA also shared details of her previous work and told about when she earned her first recognization in this field. At that time, she worked as a commercial, sales and marketing manager for the telecommunications company DIGICEL in 2006, and she worked there for more than ten years till 2017.
In 2018, she became the head of Distribution and Marketing for the Fine Foods Inc. Group of Companies. Recently, she completed a consultancy with the Guyana Telegraph and Telephone Company. She started her career in 2002 as a Marketing Manager at Court Dominica Ltd. and has worked for them since 2005.
Interestingly, the Discover Dominica Authority aimed to show the nation’s music, arts and culture at local, regional, and international festivals.
As per the new Festivals and Events Manager, Nathalie Walsh, “I am very excited and inspired and looking forward to working with my new team as they are highly potential in this industry.”
She also stated, “with my new team, I will make sure to make a unique mix of brands with good quality content and will also lead the industry.”
Moreover, the Tourism Minister of Dominica, Denise Charles, welcomed the new DDA team head and highlighted the new and upcoming events.
Nathalie Walsh has been assigned by the DDA to enhance the quality and satisfaction of events and to boost the number of visitors arriving at the Commonwealth of Dominica, aiming to achieve the arrival targets set for 2025.
Furthermore, DDA added that Walsh’s major and important task will be to manage the Jazz’n Creole festival, which is going to start on April 30 at Fort Shirley in the Cabrits National Park and will feature a mix of jazz and creole music, food, culture, fashion and many more.
