Dominica: Fidel Grant, who serves as the Minister for Public Works, Public Utilities, and Digital Economy, expressed his gratitude towards the Dominica Labour Party government, headed by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, for fulfilling their commitments to the citizens of Dominica.
Grant acknowledged that despite hearing about the construction of an International Airport for more than half a century, no previous government had been successful in delivering on this promise until now.
Today, on March 27, 2023, the Minister for Public Works, Public Utilities, and Digital Economy took to Facebook to extend his gratitude and appreciation to the government.
He stated, “Over 25 million dollars have been paid out to compensate and successfully and comfortably relocate affected residents; Farmers have been allocated lands and paid Crop Compensation; Lab is functioning; Earth movement has begun; Young people are working; Increased economic activity and many more is going to happen in upcoming days.”
He also highlighted his visit to the area where he went to observe ongoing work and shared a sneak peek of what was taking place. “For those familiar with the area, the pics are of Eden,” said the Minister.
He also gave a special message to Dominicans in which he highlighted, “Residents of Wesley, Wooty and Palm Tree, the ‘True Patriots of Dominica’, prepare yourselves for the opportunities which are being brought to our doorsteps.”
Moreover, he thanked the leaders of Dominica by saying. “Many thanks to our leader and Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit for his perseverance, dedication and vision for our country. He also thanked Charles Louis Photography of the ICT Department for these images.”
Residents of Dominica seemed really delighted after the updates. One of the users, Bernie Smith, said, “The young people need to get themselves certified in their fields so that they can be better prepared for the jobs. This is years of employment.”
