Mahikeng – The provision of a wide array of government services will tomorrow, Friday, 17 November, take centre stage as different government departments and state-owned entities, led by the Office of the Premier in the North West Province, will be in Lekwa-Teemane Local Municipality which falls under Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality, as part of the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme (ASDP) – Thuntsha Lerole.
Tomorrow’s round of ASDP: Thuntsha Lerole will see the Deputy Minister for the Department of Human Settlements, Pamela Tshwete, joining the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Patrick Dumile Nono Maloyi who will lead the day’s programme in his capacity as the Leader of Government Business.
The Deputy Minister is expected to hand over 256 title deeds as part of the Department of Human Settlements’ Title Deeds Friday initiative.
Other services to be provided include the handing over of three completed houses to identified beneficiaries, oversight visits to assess progress on the rehabilitation of roads P34/5 between Christiana and Schweizer-Reneke and P34/6 between Christiana and Jan Kempdorp, clearing of illegal dumping sites at Utlwanang township and other part of the municipality, conducting consumer education and registration of indigents, registration and updating of local businesses details on the Central Supplier Database (CSD), online application for IDs and social support services, consumer inspections and the provision of agricultural support services to identified beneficiaries amongst others.
Phase 2 of the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole is currently being rolled out to local municipalities across the province, with the focus being on enhancing the municipalities’ basic infrastructure, monitoring and enforcing consumer compliance and community development.
A platform for the Leader of Government Business, MEC Maloyi and other MECs to engage with the community on progress registered in implementing various service delivery projects and programmes will also be created after their visits to various service delivery sites.
