Buguma, Nigeria: The burial service of the Traditional Ruler of Kalabari kingdom is being held in the Asari Toru LGA. The events preceding the burial ceremony were hosted throughout the month. Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru LGA, Onengiyeofori George reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace during the time.
The events aimed to celebrate the life and legacy of King Prof. TJT Princewill, Amachree XI.
Onengiyeofori George, DSSRS has assured members of the King’s burial Central Working Committee, the Royal Family, and indeed all Asalgans, that the local government remains continually committed. They have partnered with security agencies, to ensuring that the current peaceful atmosphere in the LGA, particularly in Buguma, is sustained.
They seek to maintained the atmosphere ahead of the final burial rites of the late Amanyanabo of Kalabari, King Prof TJT Princewill, Amachree XI.
The Chairman gave the assurance on Saturday, November 25, 2023. At this time, he was speaking at the Public Lecture held in honour of the late monarch of the Kalabari kingdom. The King Amachree Memorial Hall in Buguma City served as the venue for the event.
The ASALGA Council Boss commended members of the Royal Family and the Central Working Committee for their painstaking efforts. He acknowledged that they are working hard to ensuring that the King’s burial is seamlessly concluded.
He also assured that the government under his watch would continue to focus on peace-building in the Local Governmemt Area.
“I want to reassure you that as Local Government Chairman and Chairman of the Security Committee, I will work assiduously with the security agencies to ensure that security is watertight before, during and after the final burial rites of the late monarch of our dear kingdom”.
The Chairman thanked the guest lecturer, Prof. Waibinte Wariboko for the rich and convincing lecture on the history of the Kalabari Nation. He also commended the Chief Mourner, Chief Tonye TJT Princewill for his donations. towards a colloquium.
Once constructed, the colloquium will give birth to proper documentation to a holistic history of the Kalabari kingdom.
