Zambia: UPND Lusaka Province Youth Chairman Anderson Banda shares that the provincial team had the privilege of joining other esteemed party leaders, including the National team led by Youth Chairman Gilbert Liswaniso on Thursday, 28th December 2023.
Also the Lusaka District team led by District Youth Chairman Anthony Zimba, Lusaka District Commissioner Zulu, Lusaka Central Area Member of Parliament Mulambo Haimbe, DMMU coordinator, Permanent Secretary to the Vice President and various leaders from Constituencies, Ward, and Branch.
He said that the Kulimor Tower Bus Drivers Association joined them in celebrating Christmas, Peace, Unity, and Freedom.
He further mentioned that Over 1600 bags of mealie meals were kindly donated by the organization to be distributed to all bus drivers and marketers that work out of Kulimor Tower Bus Station during the event. They intended to express their appreciation for the cooperation they have received from the Bus drivers and the UPND government.
Chairman Banda also used the occasion to exhort the bus drivers to carry on with their peaceful and harmonious jobs.
The administration of the UPND has put a lot of effort into establishing an atmosphere that allows people to function freely without fear of political intimidation.
Banda said that seeing a female driver take home the esteemed “Bus Driver of the Year 2023” award was encouraging. This accomplishment is a tangible illustration of how gender-neutral and calm our stations have grown to be.
According to him, the event served as evidence of the prosperity and harmony that our society strives to promote. We urge everyone to continue promoting the values of inclusivity, harmony, and peace that we stand for in our dealings with the public as well as within the party as we go forward.
He argues that regardless of one’s origin or political position, together, we can work to create a successful country where everyone is treated equitably.
