Botswana: 2nd edition of the DBS Roadshows was launched in Francistown with Botswana Housing Corporation as a sponsor. The event was hosted with the aim of unearthing raw creative talent countrywide.
The event was supported by several stakeholders and supporters from various sectors of the country. BHC was one of the sponsors of the inaugural edition of the DBS Roadshows and has been supporting the journey from the beginning
Botswana’s South African-based Thato Sikwane, also known as DJ Fresh has extended his gratitude to the supporters of Botswana’s creative sector. He claimed that the sustained support the DBS Roadshows get from corporate entities is crucial.
Sikwane asserted that the cooperation of the various sectors is important for the growth of the creative industries in Botswana.
DJ Fresh was speaking at the Francistown launch event of the 2nd edition of the DBS Roadshows. The BHC is happy to be a part of the roadshow journey and support the creative industry of the country.
DJ Fresh spoke about the importance of the stakeholders’ support to the the creative sector. He made his feelings public through a media interview. He said, “our society is a multifaceted consumer of a variety of media products“.
He added that there is an ardent need for corporates to inject financial and other forms of support for the initiative.
BHC uses such platforms to create awareness of its products and services. “Whereas people see it as just entertainment, at BHC we see it as an opportunity to drive mindset change amongst the artists, producers and all those involved in the creative industries as workers.”
The BHC Senior Corporate Communication Officer, Tefo Kebabope said, highlighting the imperative of investing in property. Furthermore, the corporation will visit some places targeted for the DBS activations to speak more about its planned and ongoing projects.
Other areas of focus include Facilities and lease Management, maintenance and the SHHA turnkey housing scheme.
