Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has met the principals of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). The organization is behind several major infrastructural projects in Dominica. They have lent their services for the construction of several critical projects in the country.
One of the major developments that were helmed by the CCECC was the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. During his week long trip to the People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister Skerrit has met several people of importance, including the president of the country, Xi Jinping.
The Prime Minister discussed a number of important issues during his meeting with the principals of the CCECC. They looked at the vast history of collaborative work of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.
The Commonwealth of Dominica and the People’s Republic of China established their diplomatic relations two decades ago. The two nations have since collaborated on several issues of mutual importance.
The Prime Minister of Dominica is extremely grateful for the significant support that the People’s Republic of China has extended to his nation. During his meeting with the leadership of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), PM Skerrit said he is looking forward to further collaborations.
The Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit also recollected the various projects which have been constructed with the support of the organization. The projects include:
- The construction of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium
- The Bellevue Chopin Housing Development
- The Mahaut Primary School
- The recently built Health and Wellness Centers
- The six new schools which will be constructed with funding from the People’s Republic of China
The Prime Minister of the country shared the glimpses from the meeting on their social media. The week long diplomatic trip to the Republic of China aims to strengthen the diplomatic bonds between the two nations.
The people of Dominica have appreciated the Prime Minister for taking the time to take the trip. They acknowledged the significant role being played by China to support development of Dominica’s infrastructure.
