Zambia: Naledi Senior School hosted an Excellence Awards ceremony to celebrate teachers of the school. The awards ceremony highlighted the teachers’ hardwork in ensuring that the children under their charge succeed in their academic career.
The school has achieved position two nationally in the 2023 Botswana General Certificate for Secondary Education (BGCSE) results. The event was hosted at the school premises with the aim of highlighting the tireless dedication towards ensuring that the students can succeed academically.
The chairperson of the awards committee, Christopher Ramotsisi also spoke of the school’s motivation to host the event. He said the main objective of the staff academic awards was to acknowledge and celebrate teachers.
He added that the staff has demonstrated amazing performance and contribution towards the results of the learners. He said the awards serve as an incentive for teachers to continue to improve their teaching methodology among other things.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, Elizabeth Bonolo Khumotaka delivered the keynote address at the event. She congratulated all the members of the teaching staff who made the students a priority.
Khumotaka applauded teachers and non-teaching staff for their involvement in grooming learners. She highlighted their roles in making the students to be well-read and productive members of the society.
The Permanent Secretary acknowledged the role teachers play in ensuring the success of the education system. She says the awards serve as a reminder of what can be accomplished through hard work, dedication and supportive community.
The categories awarded spanned from Outstanding results in BGCSE, Best teacher per subject, National and Regional awards all the way to the category of Value addition by subject. The people of the country here are delighted with the school’s efforts to highlight the teachers for their work.
Many people came out to congratulate the teachers on their honor. Some previous students also recalled their time at the school and applauded the teachers.
