Zambia: Kaputa District officers have shared that they have been working with the the people of the country to combat Gender Based Violence. The Administrative Officer (DAO) of Kaputa District Vincent Phiri has called for stakeholders’ continued efforts.
The leaders have shared that the members of the community have to come together against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). The officials have shared that the stakeholders of the country have to work together for the benefit of the community.
The officials have shared that it is important for the members of the organization stakeholders should that directly deal with women and girls. The organization has to work towards the officials have shared that the they will be working towards several issues.
The officials have shared that they will be focussing on issues such as education social welfare, community development. Addressing the issues will help the members of the community take their fight against Gender Based Violence.
The officials have shared that the call was made in a meeting for the preparation of 16 days of activism. The activities of the 16 days of activism activities will be taking place between November 25 and December 10. The activities have hosted every year to spread awareness about the issue for the people to take critical action.
The Administrative Officer (DAO) of Kaputa District said that they would not want all the departments to go in different directions. The officials have shared that the members have to work together for fighting GBV. This, the official believed will be able to save resources and expend more
Kaputa district needs to start spreading awareness regarding the issue among the people of the country. The officials have shared that the campaign needs to be taken into far-flung areas to help fight long-term effects of sexual Gender based violence.
The Administrative Officer (DAO) of Kaputa District is also serving as the District Gender Focal Point Chairperson. He said that the government departments need to plan sustainability around the campaign.
The officials have shared that need to come up with sustainability plans to continue implementing the district wide projects. Further members of the gender subcommittee disclosed during the meeting that the district has made progress so far.
