Botswana is reeling from a devastating floods in several districts of the community. The leadership of the country has been taking concrete steps to support the affected families .
The flood struck families across Botswana are also receiving the support of the community and various businesses. The leadership, government office and public personalities of the country have also come forward to support the nation in time of crisis.
On Thursday, The Minister for State President, Moeti Mohwasa received a donation of P100, 000 worth of Jet Fuel. The donated items included 12,000 bottles of still water and 500 blankets from Huawei Botswana.
The items were supposed to help the people of the country who have lost their homes and personal belongings in the floods. The authorities have shared that the affected families are in need of constant support to deal with the crisis.
The Minister for State President has thanked the organization for their support in light of the country’s situation. The government officials have shared the images from the handover ceremony of the relief items.
As per the Minister of State President, they are thankful to the officials of Huawei Botswana. He informed the for the donations which will hugely make a difference to those affected by the ongoing floods.
The community have shared that the floods have been a surprise and that the communities were not ready to face this disaster. The nation, during the previous year, faced a severe drought which makes the floods and heavy rains unfortunate and surprising.
The weather fluctuations have been attributed to bring caused by the climate change. The farmers have not been able to have a decent produce in the last two years.
Previously, it was due to the drought and now, due to the heavy rains and the resultant floods. Climate action has been one of the most important priorities in this situation for the administration of Botswana.
