South Africa: Wesgro, the official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape has recently participated in the South African Tourism (SAT) India Roadshow 2025. The agency focused mainly on growing tourism arrivals from the important market.
During the SAT India Roadshow 2025, Wesgro engaged with leading India based tour operators, especially within the Trusted Tour Operators (TTO) Scheme, that strengthened the partnerships for seamless travel experiences.
Furthermore, these engagements also showcased strong Indian interest in adventure, culture and cuisine that presented growth opportunities for the Western Cape and South Africa.
Although, South Africa desires to see increase in the number of visitors from India, for which the promotion agency Wesgro will focus majorly on deepening partnerships with Trusted Tour Operators (TTO) Scheme operators.
It will also concentrate on developing targeted campaigns that will align with and take care of Indian travellers’ preferences. Along with this, the Wesgro team will also enhance product offerings to cater to the growing demand for immersive experiences. Also, it is making ways to establish direct air connectivity to make travel easier.

South African Tourism proudly presented the 2025 edition of its annual India Roadshow that reinforces its commitment to the Indian market. This year the show aimed at promoting travel and tourism to the Rainbow Nation.
Their initiative continued to serve as a pivotal platform for engaging with Indian trade partners and strengthening tourism ties between the two nations. The event was observed from Mar 18 to 20, 2025 and was hosted across three key Indian cities i.e. Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.
It was the 21st edition of the SAT India Roadshow. The event introduced a refreshed strategic vision for the Indian market which highlighted key trends and emerging opportunities.

SAT Desires Increase In Indian Tourism
SAT India Roadshow 2025 was led by the Regional General Manager for Asia, Australasia and the Middle East – Gcobani Mancotywa, with an aim to build on past successes and further accelerate Indian tourist arrivals.
The convention featured more than 40 prominent exhibitors from the Rainbow Nation to strengthen ties with Indian trade buyers that includes 09 SMMEs and underscored a commitment to inclusivity and business diversification.
Notably, over 15% of exhibitors will showcase new products and offers additional fresh dimensions to South Africa’s appeal.

Future Aspects
South Africa assumes the G20 Presidency in 2025 and the nation is keen to strengthen global tourism alliances. Considering this, SA is also promoting sustainable travel and is expanding enhanced cross-border opportunities.
However, with growing accessibility, increased trade engagement and innovative campaigns such as the ‘More & More’ brand initiative, South African Tourism remains committed to deepen its presence in the Indian market.
