South African superstar Tyla is rewriting the record books once again, becoming the first African artist to score two No.1 albums on Billboard’s World Albums chart.
The global pop and amapiano sensation achieved the milestone with her latest album, APop, which joins her 2024 self-titled debut, Tyla, at the summit of the prestigious chart. Her debut album previously spent five weeks at No.1, cementing her position as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports.
But Tyla’s Billboard dominance does not stop there.
Her latest single, “Is It Love,” has stormed to No.1 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, giving the singer her fourth chart-topping hit on the ranking. The track jumped an impressive 24 places from No.25 after its first full week of tracking.
According to Luminate, “Is It Love” generated nearly all of its chart activity through approximately 2 million official streams during the June 19-25 tracking period, with only a minimal contribution from sales.
Tyla has become the first African Artist to have two no. 1 albums on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
A-Pop (2026) and Tyla (2024) both peaked at #1 on the chart.

The achievement further extends Tyla’s record as the artist with the most No.1s on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart since its launch in April 2022.
Her journey to the top began with the global smash “Water,” which dominated the chart for an extraordinary 55 weeks across 2023-24. She followed that success with “Push 2 Start,” a 20-week chart leader, and “Chanel,” which spent 24 weeks at No.1.
Only Tems, with two chart-toppers, has joined Tyla in claiming multiple No.1s on the U.S. Afrobeats chart.
“Is It Love” is also making waves internationally, debuting at No.3 on the U.K. Official Afrobeats Chart and reaching No.18 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart, Tyla’s 10th appearance on the ranking.
With APop bringing together “Is It Love,” “Chanel” and other collaborations, Tyla is proving that African music is no longer simply crossing borders it is setting the pace on the world’s biggest charts.
