Confederation of African Football (CAF) approved six major soccer stadiums of Côte d’Ivoire with official certificates. All these venues are declared compliant with international standards.
The certification was honoured to the stadiums:
- Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan
- Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpé
- Stade de la Paix in Bouaké
- Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo
- Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro
- Stade Laurent Pokou in San-Pédro
It is a great achievement that highlights a significant investment in sports infrastructure and strengthens its position as one of the leading football destinations in Africa. The six stadiums are spread across the five host cities. They offer a combined capacity of nearly 190,000 spectators and feature modern facilities designed to host major continental and international sporting events.

The Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpé is the largest among all six venues with the capacity of 60,000 seats. The multi-purpose stadium was built between 2016 and 2020. It features an athletic track, gyms, an auditorium, conference facilities and VIP areas too. This stadium was the main venue for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and is a representation of major sporting infrastructure investments of the country.
Historic Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan underwent to an extensive renovation between 2021 and 2023. It was originally built in 1952 and has a capacity to hold 29,000 people. The venue has upgraded its seating, pitch, hospitality facilities, dressing rooms and now meets all the CAF requirements.
Bouaké’s Stade de la Paix is another major venue with capability of holding capacity of 40,000. The stadium was constructed in 1983 and then went through significant renovations between 2019 and 2023. Now it features development of media centre, auditorium, conference facilities and improved parking areas.
Meanwhile, the three new stadiums have expanded football infrastructure beyond the largest cities of the country. The Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo features a natural grass pitch, athletics track, along with media centre and broadcast facilities. It can hold the capacity of 20,000 people.
The Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro can also hold the capacity of 20,000 including an athletics track, media facilities, hospitality suites and conference centres.
In San-Pédro, the Stade Laurent Pokou with 20,000 seats s provides another modern venue equipped with a natural grass pitch, media and conference facilities.
Official certification of all six stadiums marks a major milestone for Ivorian football. The national stadium infrastructure now meets all CAF standards.
Côte d’Ivoire has further strengthened its ability to host major African football competitions while it also created a lasting sports legacy that could support the economic activity and the development of football across the country.
