South Africa Men’s Cricket team recorded their second win in the fourth match of the 2026 Namibia T20I Tri-Series against Zimbabwe on September 1, 2026. The match was played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
The South Africa Cricket team won the match by 43 runs after scoring 185/7 runs in 20 overs. The team won the toss and chose to bat first, with Lhuan-Dre Pretorius and Jordan Hermann opening the innings. Pretorius was named player of the match for his outstanding performance in the match. He scored 94 runs off 51 balls hitting 12 fours and 3 sixes. He was bowled out by Zimbabwe’s bowler Brad Evans in the 19th over.
After the highest score contributed by Pretorius, Hermann and Dewald Brevis also contributed to the winning score. Hermann scored 28 runs in 25 balls and Brevis scored 41 runs in 27 balls. The South Africa players won the match in 17.4 overs by dismissing all the wickets of the Zimbabwe players and stopping the opposing team’s run at 142 runs.
Bjorn Fortuin and Duan Jansen were highest wicket takers on the side of the Proteas as they claimed 4 and three wickets respectively. Prenelan Subrayen and Nqabayomzi Peter dismissed 1 wicket each.
Additionally, the 2026 Namibia T20I Tri-Series is a three-team international T20 tournament featuring Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The series also brings together the three co-hosts of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The series officially commenced on August 28, 2026 and will conclude on September 6, 2026 and all the matches of the following team are scheduled to take place at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
The first match of the series was played by the Namibia and South Africa teams on August 28, 2026 in which Namibia won the match by 18 runs. On the next day, Zimbabwe and South Africa played the second match and the match was won by the South Africa team by 7 wickets. The third match was scheduled between Zimbabwe and Namibia on August 31, 2026 and Zimbabwe won the match by 6 wickets.
Notably, after the fourth match, played on September 1, 2026, South Africa is closing in on a position in the finals. Namibia and Zimbabwe teams are both at a tie with 2 points in the table each. The Next match of the South Africa Cricket team is scheduled to take place on September 4, 2026 against the Namibia Cricket team.
Prior to this match, the Zimbabwe and Namibia teams will come face to face for a match on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
