Kenya: Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Ababu Namwamba unveiled the team that will lead the execution of the WRC Safari Rally 2024. The unravelling of the team took place on Wednesday, January 10.

The event was hosted as preparations for East Africa’s premier rally event gathered pace. The people of the country were also present at the event. Meanwhile, the ministry has shared some glimpses of the event on their official social media.

The Cabinet Secretary has extended his support and best wishes to the rally participants for the upcoming event.

The CS challenged the team, led by the legendary rally driver Jim Kahumbura, as event director, to deliver an incredible and memorable safari rally. The people of the country also took to their respective social media handles to extend best wishes to the rally team.

“Like Caesar before you; go, see and conquer and deliver to us a memorable event,” remarked the CS

CS Ababu rallied the team to put their best foot forward, reminding them to jealously guard the honour of being the only African nation to host the event.

“We must go out there and protect this honor as many African nations want this position we currently occupy,” quipped the CS

This year’s rally has been moved back to the traditional easter weekend, thus providing a good opportunity for the majority of Kenyans to savour the action-themed around #SpotiBizNaSherehe.

Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of  Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Ababu Namwamba used the occasion to confirm that his ministry will continue to support more women and young drivers to take part in the Rally as part of the #TalantaHela goal of identifying, nurturing and monetising talents.

The Talenta Hela programme has been a flagship programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports for supporting and encouraging the creatives of the nation.
