Botswana, Gaborone: The Acting Commissioner of Police, Phemelo Ramakorwane, has called on Police Officers to embrace and live the Mindset Change concept with a view to enhancing service delivery.

Botswana, Gaborone: The Acting Commissioner of Police, Phemelo Ramakorwane, has called on Police Officers to embrace and live the Mindset Change concept with a view to enhancing service delivery.

Phemelo Ramakorwane made the remarks when addressing North West Division police officers on Friday (27/10/2023) in Maun. He said it was imperative for officers to shift their way of thinking and doing things differently.

Phemelo Ramakorwane said in advancing the Mindset of Change and dealing with customers. They have to ensure that they abide by the core values of the Botswana Police Service, that is, Botho, Excellence, Integrity and Teamwork.

The Acting Commissioner further reminded officers that the level of commitment and professionalism of officers throughout the organisation remains supreme in policing interventions.

He commended the North West Division for being one of the highest performing Divisions as they continuously record low rates of crime. He appealed to Police Officers to timeously give feedback to customers, adding that by so doing this will build a good relationship with the communities they serve.

Phemelo Ramakorwane also encouraged officers to familiarise themselves with amended laws passed by Parliament.

The Acting Commissioner urged officers to take advantage of the welfare schemes within the organisation to improve their livelihoods.

For his part, North West Divisional Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner, Committee Tlalanyane, emphasised that police officers in his Division will continue to uphold the BPS Mission and work hard to reduce crime.

He assured the Acting Commissioner of Police that the Division will continue to embrace the President’s Reset Agenda by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and discipline at all times.

To empower Village Development Committees (VDC), the Department of Social & Community Development in Mogoditshane/Thamaga District Council also held a successful two day refresher workshop at Mogoditshane Community Hall. The workshop was held under the theme, ‘Informed mindset key to sustainable community Development’.
