Africa, South Africa: Africa Weather Forecast launched their weekend report in which they shared the details about the weekend weather.
Weather Forecast shared the weather of Friday in which they said, “Along the western periphery of the high-pressure cell in the east lies a strong trough, creating a ripe area of thunderstorm development over the western central interior and the southeast, particularly the Eastern Cape today.”
Shrinking into a thin band across the central parts on Saturday and precipitating in the far east on Sunday.
The west and most of the eastern Highveld will remain dry and hot throughout the weekend but hot and dry across the country on Sunday.
GAUTENG: Predominantly sunny and hot but partly cloudy on Sunday, with a very low chance of isolated thunderstorms in the northeast on Sunday afternoon.
FRIDAY: Cloudy and warm over the central parts, with isolated thunderstorms in places; otherwise, fine and hot in the northeast (GP, LIM and MP) and in the far west. For the rest of the day, isolated storms in parts of the Free State are expected to expand into more of the central parts, precipitating light to moderate rainfall and strong winds over southern Northern Cape.
SATURDAY: As the trough weakens and moves eastwards, it initiates fewer storms with less intensity over the central parts in the first part of the day and expands them into the eastern escarpment in the afternoon. Potentially severe storms with damaging hail may develop along the KwaZulu-Natal interior after midday.
SUNDAY: Continuously clear skies in the west and the northeast will contribute to the intense heat. Otherwise, most of the country will be fine and warm to hot in the morning but becoming partly cloudy in the east with a medium chance of isolated showers and thundershowers but high along the eastern escarpment where there may be hail-producing thunderstorms.
