Ghana: Afronita and Abigail, the dancing duo of Ghana emerges out third in the Britain’s Got Talent, in London on Sunday, June 02, 2024. The duo secured the 3rd place on the UK talent show, represented Ghana and brought the pride to Africa by their performance in the finale.
However, despite of winning the favour of both judges and fans with their exceptional performance, the dancing duo could not make it to claim the £250,000 prize money.
The captivating choreography of the Ghanaian dancing duo with an amazing African story, wowed the world throughout the competition by raising high the flag of Ghana and Africa on the global platform.
Reportedly, on Sunday at the finals, the artists out up an electrifying performance in bright Ghanaian colours coming up in the top three beating out the ten finalists. Their win at third-place come as a significant feat for the Africans on that global stage of UK.
Considering their win, Afronita aged 20 and Abigail aged 7 has received a huge support from Ghanaians all over the world and especially from their home, with many trooping into the event centre to throw in their support.
The ten finalists mainly included a choir, a magician and a Japanese skipping group. Singer Sydnie Christmas took the top prize, making Jack Rhodes grabbing the second the position and followed by Abigail and Afronita securing the third place.
As per the sources, the winner of the 17th edition of the BGT Sydnie Christmas received a cash prize of £250,000 and an opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance. The public voting was open during the live show, with the viewers at home encouraging to have their say.
Afronita and Abigail’s success story serves as an inspiration to other African acts aspiring to showcase their talents on a global stage. Since their audition, the duo captured the hearts of the viewers and the judges of BGT with their stunning dance routines.
Despite being not able to listen and hearing impaired, Abigail’s skill synchronises with Afronita as her dance partner and garnered praise throughout the competition.
