One of Africa’s highest-paid and well renowned footballers ‘Sadio Mane’ gifted a new stadium to his community in his hometown Bambali, Senegal. The Al Nassr star has built the stadium single-handedly.
Reportedly, Sadio Mane has extended developmental works in Senegal by building a new stadium for the locals living in his hometown, Bambali.
The former Liverpool player recently returned to his home to do a formal inauguration and open the facilities for the nation’s training camp, especially for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
A year ago, people’s player Mane was seen playing soccer on a muddy pitch in Bambali after counteracting a tough season in Europe, which resulted in him departing Bayern Munich.
As per the sources, the photographs of the community game that he attended there went viral, in which he can be seen clearly pledging to improve the pitch and rebuild the ground for the people of his town.
Sadio Mane kept his promise and fortunately, joined by high-ranking members of society to open the stadium in Bambali, making it a warm and lovely ceremony.
Mane mentioned that he is really very happy to be with his people today and to welcome them to his native village, Bambali, where it all began.
While delivering the speech he added that it is an immense pride for him and his heart is full of joy that he is standing before all on the FIFA standard football field, which means a lot for him.
“This is not just a gift from me to my beloved village. The stadium is a symbol of our unity, our strength and our passion for football,” said Sadio Mane.
Notably, the 31-year-old soccer player will lead the Teranga Lions to AFCON 2024 in Ivory Coast. The team desires to defend the trophy they won in Cameroon in the year 2022. Senegal has marked its place in Group C with Cameroon, Guinea and Gambia.
