Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has donated boreholes to Orimolade Ifako Community Water Project, that is being initiated in her country in Lagos State.
She made the donation to celebrate the success of her hit song “Rush” which has received 326M views. The song released on her official YouTube channel last year in 2023.
The singer is using the part of the revenue that she has collected from the streaming of the song to ensure that some communities in her country get access to drinkable water. The song Rush was released in collaboration with VEVO music label.
Ayra posted her first original track on her page in December 2019, which brought her to the attention of record executive Don Jazzy, who then signed her to his record label Mavin Records.
While making the donation, Ayra also posted a video on her ‘X’ account and explained the purpose of the good deed.
Indeed, the music star has started a campaign known as ‘E Dey Rush’, last year in 2023. The campaign will enable her to provide clean water to the communities who are in need.
Ayra noticed that the Orimolade Community in the Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos is a perfect place to make the donation.

Popularly known as the Sabi Girl, Ayra ended her post by saying that everyone deserves water. Signifying this she wrote, “Started ‘E Dey Rush’ campaign last year to provide clean and safe water to communities. I am so happy to see the Orimolade Ifako Community getting the borehole installed.”
She presented her gratitude and expressed, “I’m grateful for the partnership of ‘Hope Spring Water’ and ‘Mavin Records’ to make this happen. Everyone deserves a good water.”
Starr accompanied her note with a video of the residents of the community’s reaction after their borehole was completed.
Reportedly, the Orimolade-Ifako Water Borehole Project is situated at Awoni Murphy Road and has anticipates to find great solution for the community. The project is manged by the Hope Spring Water Charity which is known for its commitment to provide sustainable water solutions to the undeserved communities.
The project is also supported by the Mavin Records which is one of the leading music labels in Nigeria, the initiative reflects the influence of joint efforts and compassion.

Notably, the Orimolade is located in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government and has been confronted with a challenging task of acquiring pure water and residents have to patronise expensive water that they buy from vendors who take monopolistic positions.
High cost is charged for the commodities by the vendors that has placed heavy financial burden over the communities and is deteriorating their lifestyle.
Originally born as Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, Ayra Starr is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Surprisingly, Ayra wasn’t a singer. She initially started her career with fashion at the age of 16 as Quove Model with its management before she decided to pursue a career in music.
