Botswana: The Botswana Housing Corporation is attending the 2nd edition of the Botswana Chamber of Mines Local Manufacturing Summit. The Corporation is also joined by joined other Parastatals and companies for the event.
The Local Manufacturing Summit is being hosted at the Gaborone International Coference Centre. The event is being hosted under the theme, “Shaping the future of Botswana’s Manufacturing Sector: Facilitating Growth, Diversification and Job Creation.”
The officials have shared that the Debwana Diamond Company is sponsoring the two day summit.
The officials of the Housing Corporation took the opportunity to shared the details of the incident on their social media. The officials have shared that the summit is an annual event which is hosted with the aim of bringing the business community together.
The officials have shared that the summit was inaugurated by the President of the Country, Mokgweetsi EK Masisi. The officials have shared that the summit brings together industry captains, policy makers and business.
The aim of the initiative is to discuss the future of Botswana’s manufacturing and agribusiness sectors. The officials have shared that the Botswana Housing Corporation has been a crucial part of the summit year after year.
The summit presents an opportunity for BHC Management to network and dialogue on issues of mutual concern. The platform offers the Corporation an opportunity to create awareness regarding its operations.
The summit served as a platform to increase their collaboration considering that most building materials used for construction are manufactured and sourced locally.
The Botswana Housing has claimed that This is a great opportunity for the Corporation to identify gaps and coming up with solutions to issues around sourcing to ensure efficiency and delivery of housing products.
The President of the Republic of Botswana Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi officially opened the summit. The two day summit which was held from August 6 to August 7.
According to the officials, the summit will be concluded on August 7th, 2024 after in-depth deliberations on various critical topics by industry leaders.
