Botswana: Botswana Police Service (BPS) is participating in the 4th edition of the INTERPOL Young Global Police Leaders Programme. The event was held in Dubai in United Arab Emirates from August 25 to 29 with several officials of the service.
The officialsΒ of the Botswana Police Service have shared several images from the event on their social media. The officials have shared that the event was attended by several officials from the various Police Services across the globe.
The programme served as an opportunity for the members of the law enforcement organizations to come together and discuss the ways in which every organization can work for the better safety and security of their respective nations.
The Botswana Police Service was represented by Sergeant Oarabile Tom of Gender and Child Protection Branch. The programme is held under the theme βππ¨π₯π’ππ’π§π π’π§ ππ‘π ππ¨π«π₯π π¨π ππ«ππ’ππ’ππ’ππ₯ ππ§πππ₯π₯π’π ππ§ππ (ππ).β
The officials have shared that the theme of the event was in line with the reality of the modern world. The representative of the Botswana Police Service was happy to be a part of the event.
The theme was perfect for the event this is because the AI has emerged as a transformative force, reshaping industries and societies across the globe. This programme is an INTERPOL initiative which aims to advance security and police work.
The event is a platform to exchange knowledge and best practices among nations. During the programme, the officials will also develop the human resources, particularly young police leaders.
This will be done Β through specialised programmes that prepare them to address future challenges.
The first INTERPOL Young Global Police Leaders Programme was held in Dubai in 2019. The programme apprised promising young police leaders about emerging trends in policing and provided them with mentoring from experienced officers to guiding them on the path to international leadership roles.
As future leaders, young police officers are expected to integrate innovation into their strategic thinking in order to prepare for the next challenge awaiting law enforcement.
