Buganda: The Prince of Buganda, David Kintu Wassajja, has urged young couples to have children who will take Buganda forward and preserve its dignity.
He was speaking at the ceremony; Monica Nakawunde married her husband, Herman Matovu, in the home of Mr Ssemuwemba Livingstone Walugembe and Princess Eugenia Nassolo, in Lubaga.
He said that when young people like these get married, they should have children who will protect the throne and take Buganda to the top in the future. He also urged them to raise them in morals and traditions, knowledge of the English language, count me, and who can join the Nkobazambogo societies.
He thanked the bride and groom for deciding to get married at an early age and for doing so in a clear, formal manner.
Buganda Hon. David Kyewalabye Male, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Tourism, urged the Buganda people to take care of their cultural heritage, as many countries are trying hard to preserve their heritage. He referred to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
He thanked the organizers of the wedding ceremonies in Buganda for their efforts in preserving the traditions and culture of the ceremonies.
Various speakers thanked the parents for preparing their children and prayed for God’s blessings in their marriages.
The ceremony was attended by the Hon. Henry Sekabembe Kiberu, Kaggo Agnes Nakibirige Ssempa, various officials from Mengo, politicians and religious leaders.
