According to a press release by the Cameroon Football Federation on Feb 05, 2024, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation was held this Monday, Feb 05, 2024, at the Hilton Hotel in Yaounde.
The meeting agenda was focused on the results of the participation of the National Men’s Selection in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire.
At the start of the official meeting, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation – Eto’o Fils Samuel, presented his resignation to the members of the federal executive body. He invited them to do the same with all soul and conscience.
After Samuel presented his resignation, at the end of the discussions and ensuring the deliberation, the members of the Executive Committee decided to continue their current mandates and subsequently unanimously rejected the resignation of the President of the Cameroon Football Federation.
They rejected the resignation, renewing all their confidence in him in order to continue in the same momentum, the work of reconstruction and development of Cameroonian football, from the base to the top, as he had planned in his acclaimed project during the elective General Assembly of December 11, 2021.
Recently, the national football team of Cameroon ‘FECAFOOT’ has been through many ups and downs during the ongoing AFCON 2024 matches. They lost almost all the matches they played, which questioned the strategies and experience of the coach, Rigobert Song and President Samuel Eto’o.
People have also spread some false rumours, for which the Cameroon Football Federation released a special note in which they urged their fans and followers not to believe in false rumours that are being spread about them.
Recently, the indomitable Lions have also received the resignation from the player Karl Toko Ekambi, who posted his resignation via his official Instagram handle.
