Cameroon: The Cameroonian Baritone Opera Singer – Aurelien Mangwa has been recognised as the best Opera Singer. The Afro musician has been honoured amongst the best Opera Singers of America.
Reportedly, the renowned Metropolitan Opera, which is known for promoting excellence in the opera realm, featured Aurelien Mangwa and awarded him as one of the winners in its esteemed ‘Laffont Competition.’
Along with Aurelian Mangwa, the opera competition organised by the Washington District in the United States has recognised four other exceptional talents.
Mangwa is a resident of Washington, DC, and has specifically received the Encouragement Award in the Baritone voice category. By receiving the recognition, he solidified his name and position in the competitive world of opera.
While telling about his victory, the singer expressed his feelings on his official social media handle and Facebook page and dedicated the honour to his late father, Ngasa Mangwa Michel and wrote, “Dear Followers, family, friends and singers… I would like to dedicate this first professional and international award of my career to my late Father, Papa NGASSA MANGWA Michel.”
The artist mentioned that his father died when he was at a tender age, “He left us when I was still a little kid and was in middle school Class-1 in Yaounde, Cameroon.”
The Soprano added that his father never heard him singing, “Not only has he never heard me sing, if so, he’s listening to me from up there, sitting next to the creator, but also, he didn’t know that he gave birth to an OPERA SINGER (Intellectual Music).”
The singer dedicated the entire award to his late father and expressed gratitude for the morals and values that he instilled in him.
“This is a big victory for me, Dad and I would like the whole world to know that you existed, you exist and you continue to watch over us, over me,” wrote Mangwa.
He mentioned that winning the award is a sign of loyalty and dignity, “Receive this award, a sign of my loyalty and the dignity you have given us to be Men of Values and Integrity in this society where we are ALL passers-by.”
Following the victorious news of Soprano Aurelien Mangwa, the fans took over the internet and shared congratulatory posts on social media. The congratulations poured in from well-wishers and fellow Cameroonians.
