Cape Town: The City of Cape Town is urged to gear up for growth with its Business Hub. Local SMMEs and entrepreneurs are encouraged to take advantage of the City’s free upskilling workshops.

According to the sources, these programmes are part of the development initiatives of Business Hub, which are managed by the city’s Economic Growth Directorate to support small enterprises or firms in Cape Town.

The Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth Directorate – Alderman James Vos said that the city recognises that small businesses are foundational to the healthy development of the economy, job creation and innovative concepts that give rise to new industries.

James Vos expressed, “I believe that one of the major factors for Cape Town’s status as the metro with the lowest unemployment rate is the City’s real and continued delivery of upskilling platforms that equips businesses with the necessary insights and abilities for growth.”

The workshop, will include discussions on business development and sustainability topics such as:

  • Online Marketing
  • How to do Business with the City
  • Costing and Pricing
  • How to complete a tender document, etc.

Notably, many of the workshop sessions will be hosted online, allowing residents to access them wherever they are.

Alderman Vos mentioned that as a City, they strive to help new and small businesses to navigate the often tricky terrain that comes with growing their platforms and operations.

The ultimate mission is to build the depth and diversity of economic geography, for the people who are participating and the people who are consuming, with a strong focus on building sustainable businesses and entrepreneurs, said Alderman James Vos.

The City of Cape Town keeps on organising such workshops and initiate such projects for the development of the nation. The Business Hub workshop is completely professional and arranged under the guidance of the officials.
