Cape Town’s heart pulsed with rhythm and excitement as the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2025 free concert drew the crowd filled with locals and tourists who were eager to experience a thrilling night of unforgettable music in the streets of the Mother City.
The 2025 edition of CTIJF was a star-studded lineup that featured British acid jazz legends Incognito and South Africa’s iconic kwaito group TKZee, headlining an eclectic mix of international and local talent.
Most interesting part of the concert was that it showcased genre-defying performances from The Ploemies, rising star Hannah Ray and powerhouse vocalists Andrea Fortuin and Fancy Galada. The event kept the crowd energised between sets with the electrifying DJ Eazy, adding even more vibe to an already dynamic night of Cape Town live music.
The popular CTIJF free concert was observed on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Greenmarket Square. The event was a precursor to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival that will take place at the CTICC later in the upcoming week.
CTIJF 2025 free concert was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews he shared an official post along with the snippets from the vibrant show. With the pictures he captioned, “Attended the Cape Town International Jazz Festival last night and was blown away by the exceptional talent on stage.”
He added, “This festival is a true showcase of musical brilliance and creativity, and a firm favourite on Cape Town’s cultural calendar. A world-class event that keeps getting better every year. Cape Town continues to lead as global city for arts, culture and live entertainment.”
Considering the rocking musical fest, Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) also shared the glimpses and quoted, “It’s showtime for the 22nd annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival! The doors are OPEN, and the rhythm is electric!”
Cape Town International Jazz Festival itself shared a post on their official social media handle and appreciated the artists for their stunning performance and “Stage = Owned. Crowd = Moved. Black Coffee + Nduduzo Makhathini = Unforgettable.”

Also, a person who attended the event named Kader M Idea Miller posted a video clip from the music fest and wrote, “Muneeb Hermans received a standing ovation at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. Brilliant performance and we are all proud of you. You had to be in the crowd to feel the vibe.”
“Proudly, you represented Hanover Park last night and proved to everyone that nothing in life is impossible. ‘Begin with the end in mind’ by Shaakirah Adams. Thank you for the invitation, you made me proud last night. You pulled it off! The world is now your oyster,” he added.
