Cape Town: The City of Cape Town is inviting all the local residents, businesses, visitors and staff members to join Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, Western Cape Government Premier Alan Winde and Provincial and City Staff at the Open Government Event.
The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, Feb 01, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Concourse/Ground Floor, 7 Wale Street, Cape Town CBD.
The event is an opportunity for the Western Cape government and the City of Cape Town as they are eager to meet with the people in person, to engage on any concerns, challenges or suggestions that locals may have.
The government urged the people and said, “We encourage all residents to attend because your valuable inputs can contribute to the betterment of our communities.”
Notably, the meetings will be conducted for a limited time period of up to five minutes only, and that too only one-on-one meetings. The meetings also have its own set rules, which are as follows:
- The meeting will follow the norm of First Come, First Served
- People need to register themselves to get their queue number
- Interested ones need to look out for their number on the screen
- Only after completing the above rules people can then meet with the person they wish to see
As per the sources, no RSVP (Respondez s’il vous plait) is required, as are welcome and the event invites open entry of all but with registration to have a record.
Moreover, the invitation is for one-on-one meetings. All right of entry to this event is reserved and disruptive groups will not be allowed, in the interests of other residents in attendance.
The event is officially sponsored by the Western Cape Government and legislative capital of South Africa, City of Cape Town. The event is a great opportunity for the local residents and government to meet together at one place, where they can present and discuss the points they want to add in the development of the nation or the changes they want to see in the country South Africa.
