Cape Town: Green Point Market is returning to the city this September. Here, the visitors can celebrate all things and can enjoy every local thing. The market will be observed every weekend for unique and aesthetic things by Capetonians.
The Green Point Market will feature a mix of fashion, food and entertainment. This is all set against a truly Capetonian backdrop.
Alderman James Vos, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth and Tourism said that the Greem Point Market coincides perfectly with Tourism Month. This will provide an ideal opportunity for visitors and locals to experience something new.
At the market visitors can treat themselves to something delicious, funky and authentically Capetonian. Many traders know the location well due to trading, before this stadium was built. This market is also a great opportunity to expand their client base and engage new customers.
Vos further stated that for them, such markets capture the heartbeat of Cape Town. They are, where the small businesses thrive, creativity shines. It is a time when communities come together.
Every stall at the market tells a story of local talent and determination, by showing that they are not just shopping, they are supporting livelihoods and growing the economy.
Notably, the Green Point Market cannot operate on days when major events will take place at the stadium.
At present, the City of Cape Town is working closely with all concerned partners to get the Green Point Market running as regularly as possible. Dates for the market, extending beyond Sept 2025 will be communicated by the City of Cape Town as soon as possible.
As per the details given by the official organizers of the Green Point Market, it will be held every Sunday in September from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. at DHL Stadium’s P4 parking lot at 127 Vlei Road, Green Point. Limited free parking will be available at P6 parking lot. Also, an additional paid parking facility will be available at the DHL Stadium on non-event days.
