Cameroon: Professional soccer player – Carlos Baleba as finally accepted to play for Cameroonian football team FECAFOOT. The 21-year-old Brighton midfielder has accepted the call-up from the Cameroon National Team and is ready to respond if selected by the newly appointed coach.
As per the sources, it has been revealed that the player is convinced by Marc Brys and is willing to play for the national team. Earlier, Baleba was approached by the Rigobert Song when he was still the Cameroonian Coach, but the player refused to play and stated that he was not ready for national football team.
Carlos Baleba is considered as one of the best young midfielders in England and was recently nominated for the Golden Boy Award, that recognises the best U-21 players in the world.
Originally, known as Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba by birth, the Cameroonian professional footballer plays as a central or defensive midfielder for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
Furthermore, FECAFOOT has proceeded with appointment of the technical staff of the Indomitable Lions. Marc Brys has appointed himself as coach and for the selection of other players.
Ndtoungou Mpile Martin is appointed as assistant coach-1, David Pagou as assistant coach-2 and Carlos Kameni as goalkeeper coach.
Considerably, Marc Brys is expected to name his squad for Cameroon’s June 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers matches against the Cape Verde and Angola.
Indomitable Lions has appointed Belgian Marc Brys as their new head coach, last month in April. He signed a contract for two and a half-year with the team and has been signed between the two to fulfil the requirements of professional training of the soccer team.
An official ceremony was organised to appoint the new coach Marc Brys was held on Monday, April 08, 2024 in Yaounde, Douala, Cameroon.
Being appointed as new coach Marc Brys stated that he is curious and would like to start again. He added to his statement that they all are ready to put the things back again in place and he was happy with the selection process as it was conducted in a very professional way.
