To see first-hand what residents were experiencing and the extent of the damages caused by the flooding the Councillor accompanied the teams of the regions again.

Provincial Disaster Management Centre (PDMC) of Western Cape continues to coordinate the multi-disciplinary response to the series of cold fronts that are lashing large parts of the province.

MCM for Safety and Security advised that, where there is need and if possible, please stay off the roads and remain indoors. He urged the public to refrain from sharing social media posts, videos and photographs without verifying them, as in the past old clips have resurfaced.

The South African Weather Service has forecasted the next cold front to make landfall on Tuesday by bringing it between 10mm and 20mm of rain over the western parts of the province and between 40mm and 60mm over the south-western mountains.

People are advised to check their car’s wipers, brakes, tyres and lights at a regular time span. If there are any defects, get them repaired immediately.
