Cape Town Carnival is celebrating 15 years of the creative and artistic legacy. The town has remained colourful and represented its culture through performing arts, while commemorating its festivities and is returning to Green Point on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Reportedly, the City of Cape Town would like to advise the residents and spectators over logistics for the event day. the celebration of 15th anniversary includes a lot of headline performers, considering YoungstaCPT, DJ Ready D, Bravo Le Roux, Paxton Fielies and the SA Youth Choir.
The celebration will also observe the appearances by the DHL Stormers, the Drag Cartel and Rio’s Carnival’s Queen of the Drums and Erika Januza. The Fire and Rescue Services as well as the Law Enforcement officers will also form a part of the carnival opening.
These all will be joined by the 1500 performers from across the city who will entertain thousands of spectators on Green Point Main Road and Somerset Road for the three-hour carnival. Considering the celebration of creativity and culture, the Cape Town Carnival features massive vibrant floats, costumes and performers.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security – Alderman JP Smith said that it is really incredible to witness the Cape Town Carnival’s growth from an event with more than 11,000 spectators on Long Street in 2010 to a fully-fledged festival attracting around 30,000 people.
For last 15 years, the Cape Town Carnival has become an unmissable, family-friendly event that celebrates the diversity of the country, its culture, creativity and the arts while promoting a sense of community.

City of Cape Town has been an essential part of the carnival’s growth and a source of pride for the way in which the event has shone a global spotlight on the city. its dedication to provide a platform to develop talented performers, artisans who design the floats, costume designers and production specialists.
Furthermore, the traditional parade on Somerset Road and Green Point Main Road, the carnival will also arrange an entertainment village with a stage for performances by some of the city’s top acts and food trucks.
Located near the parade’s beginning point, The village will have performances from 3:00 pm until midnight, that will include an after party hosted completely by DJ Ready D and YoungstaCPT. The carnival parade will kick off at 6:00 pm and will take performers from the intersection of York Road and Main Road to the end point in Chiappini Street.
