Malawi: Chitipa District Council is hosting the 2nd edition of the K20 million Misuku Motorhino Eco Rally 2024 competition. The event will be hosted on Saturday in Misuku Hills in Chitipa District.
The officials of the district council have shared the theme of the 2024 edition of the competition. The theme is ‘Conserving natural forests in order to create worth through tourism in hard-to-reach areas.’
District Commissioner for Chitipa, MacMillan Magomero has made the announcement for the competition. He said that the Misuku Motorhino Eco Rally 2024 is popular in several parts of the world. The project is also proud to have the support of Motorhino Motorcycles as one of their sponsors for this year.
The sponsors for the Eco Rally 2024 are specialised in electric vehicles including motorbike and motorboats.
District Commissioner for Chitipa Magomero was attending the District Executive Committee (DEC) meeting whn he made these remarks. The meeting was hosted on Wednesday in Chitipa.
The District Commissioner announced that the event will be hosted on Sunday and has invited the people to attend. The officials have also announced that the Minister of Local Government, Culture and National Unity, Richard Chimwendo Banda will be the guest of honour at the event
Minister of Tourism, Verah Kamtukule, and Minister of Youths and Sports Uchizi Mkandawire will also attend the eco rally. The District commissioner said that the event is extremely important for the Chitipa District.
This is because the event is a part of the reform agenda of the district
He then asked DEC members and all the members of the district to participate in the event wholeheartedly. The officials have shared that the members of the community also enjoy the rally event which was hosted for the first time in 2023.
Country Director for Motorhino Electric Motorcycles, Barros Atupele Mweso was also present at the event. He said that the organizers had presented a budget for the event. They confirmed that they had received the funds from the district council.
The preparations for the event will complete by Friday and they will unveil their new Motorcycle at the event. The heavy duty model is called Rhino X2.
