Zambia: The Headman of Choobe Village in Ufwenuka Chiefdom, Monze District, Albert Mainza, has asked the administration to work on completing Ufwenuka Police Post. The Police Post will help in the management of law and order in the country.

The administration of the village has been struggling with criminal activities and offenders being present within the community. The people are concerned for their safety and have reached out to the officers take  strict steps to ensure that the property of the people is protected.

The village headman has also called on the people of the village to do their part in maintaining peace and stability.

Mainza tells  spoke to the media regarding the issue. He said that the village area needs constant police presence due to recurring theft cases.

He claimed that the livestock is also going missing from some of the homes in the village which  has become a cause of major concern. The administration has been constructing a new police post in the village, to address the issue.

However, the authorities have not provided any official timeline for the  completion of the construction of the police post. As such, the members of the community have been looking forward to communication from the authorities.

The Village headman called for quick completion of the police post as he understands the significance of the structure within the community. He expressed his sincere belief that once the police post is completed, the people in the area will feel safer

The increase of police presence within the community will discourage rampant criminal activities.

Meanwhile, Chief Ufwenuka has claimed that he is happy to note the reduced number of murder cases. He highlighted that such instances were very common in the chiefdom previously.

He notes that in the recent past, people would harm each other over suspicions of witchcraft as well as family disputes.  The Traditional Leader has encouraged the people of his chiefdom to find peaceful ways of resolving issues.
