As per the sources, the spectators, friends and family of riders can also use the platform to monitor their cyclists’ progress.

Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security – Alderman JP Smith said that the Cape Town Cycle Tour has been a staple of the city’s event calendar, at least for five decades and is revered by cyclists across the globe.”

Smith added that it is an event that not only attracts thousands of people to our city during race week but has also provided a major boost to our economy annually.

Alderman for Safety and Security has mentioned that the cyclists have spent the better part of the year preparing and taking on the challenge by having as many people cheering them on from the sidelines as they make their way across the Peninsula, which would motivate them.

“Being the City, we will be there to see the cyclists off. We hope that Cape Town’s residents will also line up the roads to give them extra boost for the long ride ahead!” said JP Smith.
