Cape Town: Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements – Councillor Carl Pophaim visited Delft to personally deliver title deeds to residents at their homes. The visit formed part of the Mayor’s Service Blitz initiative, which takes services directly to residents in various parts of the metro.
As part of the Mayoral Service Blitz initiative, the Human Settlement Directorate also hosted its roadshow in the area.
Considering this, Cllr Carl Pophaim stated that the Human Settlements teams were out in full force to provide Delft residents with direct access to a wide range of housing and municipal services at the roadshow. They also delivered 91 title deeds to beneficiaries at their homes in the area.
The Human Settlements roadshows brought together a number of line departments and created a one-stop-shop platform where residents can engage directly with officials and received assistance with housing related programmes and opportunities, among others. The title deed handovers to beneficiaries also marked an important milestone for many families in the area.
This strong initiative turned out as a positive engagement with residents on the day that underscored the importance of bringing the services closer to the people. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Delft roadshow, they will be returning to the area on July 28, 2026 to provide residents with another opportunity to access these services.
City of Cape Town remains committed it and aims to improve the delivery and to ensure that residents have access to the important information and assistance they need. All Human Settlements line departments were present at the roadshow. They enabled residents to access multiple services in one place, that majorly includes:
- Housing Needs Register application enquiries
- C3 notifications and enquiries
- Public housing tenancy enquiries
- Affordable housing enquiries
- Municipal accounts enquiries
- Informal Settlements
- Homeownership
Previously, the Human Settlements department of the City of Cape Town has handed over houses to the beneficiaries and marked a major milestone. It is being done for a good cause and purpose to provide shelter and place that they can call their home.
