Zambia: The Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS) Commissioner General Fredrick Chilukutu has promoted five members of the Zambia National Netball Team for their stunning performance during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations was held in Gaborone in Botswana early this month, on December 6. The five players were part of the Zambia Netball National Team that won the nail-biting competition, its maiden Africa Cup of Nations in Botswana.
The Lazarous Andres Tembo-coached side was crowned Africa Cup of Nations Champions after beating Namibia 57-55 in a nail-biting final.
The five officers promoted are Diana Banda from Chief Inspector to Assistant Superintendent, while Ethel Pamba and Elizabeth Bwalya have been promoted from Inspector to Chief Inspector. This promotion of them comes because of their performance and utmost show cast of their talents.
Others are wardresses Marble Mbambala and Memory Mushanga, who are Sergeants.
“We called you here to show our appreciation. We are proud of you,” Chilukutu said when he addressed the officers at the Service Headquarters in Kabwe. The Service Chief is happy that the five officers represented the ZCS well during the Africa Cup of Nations. Commissioner Chilukutu has even applauded the five officers for representing ZCS with bringing esteem during the Africa Cup Nations.
He urged the officers to continue working hard and work with utmost sincerity and dedication for the government and the nation.
“Not even the sky is the limit for you. You carried the Zambian Flag higher and fought, represented us well in Botswana,” Chilukutu, flanked by his Deputy Commissioner General Bwalya Kuyomba and members of the Command said.
Commissioner General Chilukutu is happy that the officers brought honour and pride to the country. The Service Chief also reserved special recognition for hard-working Elizabeth Bwalya, who was voted the best Mid Court at the tournament. Chilukutu praised Bwalya for her courage and tenacity and praised her for her talent.
