Botswana: The Lefika Athletics Club has successfully hosted a cross-country event for the youngsters of the country. The event was aimed at promoting the physical activity and athletic abilities of the Botswanan youngsters.
Additionally, the event also serves as a qualifier for the upcoming Botswana International Cross Country. The main event is scheduled for the final Saturday of the month, January 27.
As per the Athletics Association, the qualifier was contested by several youngsters from across Botswana. Ninety Eight young athletes from fourteen clubs based in the South regions participated in the event.
The Lefika Athletics Club was partnering with the Botswana Athletics Club and Golden Door Sports Agency for the event hosted on Sunday, January 14.
Athletes competed in the 4km for Youth girls, 6km for Youth boys, 6km for Junior Women, 8km for Junior Men and 10km for both men and women in the senior categories.
