Juba, South Sudan: President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday received in his Office the Deputy Governor of Jonglei State, Jacob Akech Dengdit, to brief the President on the general security situation and other developmental projects related to road connectivity in the State.
During the meeting, the Deputy Governor briefed the President on his 100 days in Office as a Deputy Governor of Jonglei State.
He thanked the President for his recent visit to Jonglei State and his efforts to enhance developmental projects in Jonglei State, especially the construction of the Juba-Bor Road.
The Deputy Governor reiterated that the road constructed has reduced the insecurity in the State and eased the movement of people and their goods. He said it takes 2 hours to drive from Juba to Bor and further urged that the road connectivity should be extended from Bor to Malakal to enable the movement of people with their goods.
The Deputy Governor informed the President about their working relations with his Governor as they are working for the interest of the people.
“We are doing one thing with the Governor despite the fact that we are from different political parties, but we are cooperating well, doing one thing, reporting to one government and one President as the State Government of Jonglei,” said Deputy Governor Jacob Akech Dengdit.
