Dominica: The Prime Minister of Dominica visited the Bell Hall to check on the progress of the much-anticipated Cabrits Marina Basin. The Prime Minister claimed that the development of the Cabrits Marina Basin will take the Tourism Sector of Dominica to the nation to a higher level, especially in the north of the island.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in May 2024, in the presence of Prime Minister Skerrit. He commented on the transformative capacity of the project and how it can transform Dominica for the better
During this event, the Prime Minister claimed that the Cabrits Marina Project is a positive step in the development of the Portsmouth Community and the Northern Section of the nation.
The Cabrits Marina Basin has been cleared for dredging in the Bell Hall Area. The process, according to the Prime Minister of Dominica, is going ahead at a satisfactory pace.
The contractors have been working in full swing to complete the work on this project. The Prime Minister who visited the project site on Friday, was accompanied by several officers and delegates. Through the development of the Cabrits Marina, the island nation is aiming to establish it as a Premier Tourism Destination.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit took to his social media to share some glimpses of his visit to Portsmouth. In the video message, PM Skerrit claimed that this is the beginning of a new chapter for Tourism.
The government wants to make Dominica the perfect destination for Yachting enthusiasts. The leadership has claimed that the Marina, upon completion will be able to accommodate various types of vessels.
The overall blueprint of the Cabrits Marina includes the administration building and a custom house. The tourism stakeholders have claimed that they want to make sure that the visitors can access all the services at a single place.
The funding for the project has been done primarily through the country’s Citizenship by Investment Programme. PM Skerrit and his administration is proud of the progress that they are seeing in the construction process.
