Dominica: The Prime Minister of Dominica and the Labour Party leader – Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, launched one more candidate for the Salybia Constituency, Cozier Frederick. He will be representing DLP in the general elections 2022 in Dominica.
While announcing the candidate, PM Roosevelt Skerrit stated that this year’s Labour 2022 campaign was built on two fundamental themes:
1. That Labour is still best choice;
2. Stability is key
Furthermore, Prime Minister slammed the UWP convention today, which reinforces the seriousness of the times in which they live. He also stated that because of UWP pressure Lennox Linton resigned in September. That is after the plotters had spent the previous three months searching for what they considered pedigree leadership.
The UWP is led by a gentleman that could not have a capacity to convince the constituency he hails from to vote for him.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also blamed UWP, saying that when the hurricane came to Dominica and started shaking Dominica, that man didn’t stand with Dominica and packed his bags and ran.
He added that he (the UWP leader) claimed that he works with a foreign government, but still, Dominica didn’t get the vaccine, far less a COVID-19 test kit for Dominicans.
Moreover, Roosevelt Skerrit called the new leader a useless, uncharismatic and anti-youth individual that UWP has chosen to lead their party in these times. He also said that the people who voted for him did not applaud the results when it was announced.
He lashed UWP by saying that it is the most friendly party in the world…with its recycling of leaders. Thompson Fontaine is a new second-hand leader, said Rossevelt Skerrit.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit further told the public about the Thompson Fontaine, that he believes that Dominica has a bloated public service. Thompson Fontaine is an economist – the first thing that he would do if he was to ever resume the leadership of this country is to cut the public service in half.
He also mentioned that UWP didn’t wish the Labour party well, but they mentioned in their campaigning that the UWP is grateful for all the things which the Labour party has done for them and for the community and country and then rewarded the party by not voting for it.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also said that his motive is not only to win but also to want a significant number of Dominicans to vote for Labour Party and be a part of the national reset that is necessary going into 2023.
