Botswana: The Minister of Education in the government of Botswana, Dr Douglas Letsholathebe, honoured the TVET Graduates for their dedication. He was present at the 1st Joint Graduation of Technical and Vocational Education.
Minister Letsholathebe gifted the 8 Best Overall Performers an opportunity further their studies at CITF and other institutions. The event was a remarkable success for the talented students of Botswana.
The best performing graduates of the TVET were acknowledged for their hard work by the various attendants of the graduation ceremony. The Ministry of Education shared some images from the event which was attended widely by education stakeholders of Botswana.
The ministry shared that the top graduates of the TVET programme were awarded and recognized during the ceremony. The students graduated with the best grades at the end of their course. Further, they were also awarded prizes that will aid in kick-starting their careers.
Under the category of Best Overall Performers, 8 graduates were each awarded P6000.00 equipment vouchers.
Further, a total of 43 graduates under the Best Performers-Vocation category each received P 5000.00 equipment vouchers. Meanwhile some receive equipment equivalent to P5000.00.
These prizes are to encourage the students of the TVET Courses to not wait to be employed to start their career. The vouchers were designed to give them a boost to utilize their skills and be self-employed.
Further, the Minister of education, Douglas Letsholathebe said the best performers will progress in alignment with their respective courses. Letsholathebe said this is a demonstration of TVET transformation. Botswana administration has been working hard to empower the youth of the country with TVET education.
The TVET education will help the youngsters in coming up with the alternative sources of employment. Meanwhile, the people of the country can also generate employment for other young members of the society.
The youngsters commended the government for organizing the graduation ceremony and encouraging more youngsters in pursuing TVET.
