Africa: The renowned musical legend Dr Nothembi Mkhwebane graced the Occasion of the Rhandza XiKolo Xa Wena Campaign at Rathlahana Secondary School in Pankop, Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality in Nkangala District yesterday.
She participated in all the campaign activities, which included cleaning, establishing a vegetable garden, planting a tree and fixing some of the broken furniture at the school.
She then showered Campaign participants and those who attended with her beautiful musical rendition, taking them down memory lane to their delight.
She also taught the audience about how people used to work together during difficult times in the spirit of what in IsiNdebele is known as “Lima”, which has a similar concept to what the Rhandza XiKolo Xa Wena Campaign seeks to achieve.
It was indeed a great experience to see this living musical legend, cultural icon and historian embracing the campaign and leading from the front in almost all the activities.
The Department of Education would like to extend its profound appreciation to her and to everyone in their different roles and capacities who participated in the Rhandza XiKolo Xa Wena Campaign yesterday.
